DCDSB 2024-2025 Bell Time Changes

Dear Parents, Guardians and Caregivers:

Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) and Durham District School Board (DDSB) are partners in the transportation consortium known as Durham Student Transportation Services (DSTS). Through this partnership, both boards’ transportation needs are consolidated to provide safe, reliable, and efficient transportation services for our students.

As various factors change (for example, school closures, new school openings, traffic congestion and changing enrolment) DSTS must examine its transportation routes and schedules to determine whether adjustments can be made to maintain or increase efficiency. Bell times and bussing schedules are a complex, interconnected system. A small change to the bell time of one school can have a ripple effect on the bell times of multiple other schools, increasing ride times, or bus availability for other schools.

To ensure consistent transportation service is maintained for eligible students, some minor changes (10 minutes or less) to bell times are being implemented for the 2024-2025 school year. Bell time adjustments are required at DCDSB and DDSB schools.

Below is a list of the DCDSB schools where we will have a minor change to bell times.

DCDSB Schools – Bell Time Change (10 Minutes or Less)

*Note: the DCDSB is requesting the bell time change at St. Bernadette Catholic School, due to traffic congestion in the area. By moving the bell times 10 minutes earlier, it will help to reduce traffic at dismissal.
